Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 92 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on the 1st of February, 2022 to 5:00 am on the 2nd of February, 2022.

Unwanted Person/Arrest on Warrant

On the 1st of February 2022 at 1:10 p.m. Belleville Police attended a Sidney Street Belleville, Ontario address regarding an unwanted person. Police located the unwanted person, thirty-three-year-old female Belleville, Ontario resident Kristine Wendling, who was currently wanted by Belleville Police for Fail to comply with a Probation Order. Wendling was arrested for the outstanding warrant and transported to the Belleville Police Service where she is being held for a bail hearing on the 2nd of February, 2022.

Domestic

On the 1st of February 2022 at 4:30 p.m. Belleville Police attended in the area of MacDonald Avenue Belleville, Ontario regarding a domestic assault. Belleville Police were informed by the caller that a male and female were physically fighting on the street. Police located the male and female and investigated the incident. As a result of the investigation Police arrested a twenty-seven-year old Belleville, Ontario female for Assault and Uttering Threats. She was transported to the Belleville Police Service where she was later released with a Court date of the 28th of February 2022. The name of the female is not being released to protect the identity of the victim.

Stolen Vehicle

On the 1st of February 2022 at 6:40 p.m. Belleville Police responded to the Quinte Mall regarding a stolen motor vehicle. Police learned that at approximately 3:30 p.m. an unknown suspect stole a 2021 Kia Crossover from the Quinte Mall parking lot. Later in the evening, the Belleville Police Service was notified by Center Hastings Ontario Provincial Police that they had located the vehicle and had a thirty- five-year-old male Belleville, Ontario resident James Ferguson in custody for the theft. Ferguson was held for a bail hearing on the 2nd of February, 2022 by the Centre Hastings Ontario Provincial Police.
