Robbery
Belleville, ON- On 11 February 2021, at 7:20 p.m., police attended a Millennium Parkway business regarding a robbery. Police were advised that a male had left the store with two shopping carts of items, and when he was confronted by security, he threatened to stab them with a knife. Police located and arrested the male as he was attempting to flee in a vehicle. The male, a 33-year-old Belleville man, was arrested for robbery. Police also learned the man had outstanding warrants for his arrest for theft of a credit card and fraud. He was held for a bail hearing on 12 February 2021.
Impaired/ Dangerous Driving
Belleville, ON - On 11 February 2021, at 8:40 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Dundas Street West after the vehicle had run a red light. Police determined the male driver had been drinking and made a roadside screening demand. The male failed the roadside test, and police advised him he was under arrest. At that time, the male fled the scene in his vehicle travelling at very high rates of speed.
Police located the vehicle a short time later at the driver’s parent’s residence. The male became violent upon police arrival, and attempted to assault his father with a weapon. After a short struggle and a brief chase, the male was arrested. A 27-year-old Belleville man was held for a bail hearing on 12 February on the following charges: impaired driving, refusing to provide a breath sample, flight from police, dangerous driving, assault with weapon, obstructing police, and assaulting police.
