Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 64 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on the 23rd of December 2021 to 5:00 am on the 24th of December 2021.

Break & Enter

At 8:50 a.m. on the 23rd of December, 2021 police were called to a Wallbridge-Loyalist Road business for a Break and Enter. It is believed that the Break and Enter occurred between 12:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. on the 23rd of December 2021. Taken were some food items and cash. It is also believed that the suspect may have used a shower. There is no surveillance video and no suspects at this time. Mischief

At 10:40 a.m. on the 23rd of December, 2021 police were called to a Front Street business for a woman being verbally aggressive with staff and then broke a window.  Police investigated and learned that Marrissa Mantle a thirty-seven-year-old Belleville, Ontario woman had caused the damage. Mantle was arrested and charged with Mischief Under $5000. She was later released and given a court date of January 27th 2022 to face the charge.

Shoplifter

At 6:45 p.m. on the 23rd of December 2021 police were called to a Bell Boulevard business for a shoplifter. The suspect was observed attempting to steal a number of items before being arrested by a Loss Prevention employee. The accused was charged under the Trespass to Property Act for Engage in Prohibited Activity on Premise and issued a Trespass notice for the business.
