Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 81 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on the 14th of December, 2022, to 5:00 am on the 16th of December, 2022.

Arrest on Warrant

On the 19th of December 2022 at 9:00 p.m., Quinte West OPP located a female, 50-year-old Jennifer Chamberlain, who was wanted on outstanding Warrants with the Belleville Police Service for Mischief and Theft Under $5000. Chamberlain was arrested and transported to the Belleville Police Service by OPP. She was later released with a court date of the 19th of January, 2023. 

Two Arrests made for Theft Under $5000

On the 19th of December 2022 at 12:20 p.m., Belleville Police responded to Bell Boulevard Belleville, Ontario, business regarding a male and a female who were shoplifting. Police located the couple, and the investigation resulted in a 45-year-old female of no fixed address being charged with trespassing and 42-year-old male, Trevor Vardy, of no fixed address, being charged with Theft Under and Fail to Comply with Probation. Both were Trespassed from the store and later released on a Provincial Offences Notice and Appearance Notice.

City Police also report a fairly steady 24-hour period ending at 5:00 a.m. on December 20th 2022.  Police did respond to several incidents that ended peacefully with Police intervention. Those incidents included three suspicious persons, four traffic complaints, two neighbour disputes, and fifteen alls for Police assistance, among other various call types. Two Motor Vehicle Collisions were also referred to the Collision Reporting Center.
