Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 68 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on the 1^st of December, 2022, to 5:00 am on the 2^nd of December, 2022.

Domestic Mischief and Threats

On 1 December, 2022, at 5:33pm, Belleville Police attended an address in the south end of Belleville for a domestic dispute. It was determined through investigation that property belonging to the female victim had been destroyed and the male suspect threatened to cause bodily harm to her. As a result of the investigation, a 61-year-old male of Belleville, Ontario was arrested and charged with domestic mischief and uttering a death threat. The male was later released with a court date of the 19^th of December, 2022. As this is an intimate partner violence-related incident, the accused’s name is not being released to protect the victim’s identity.  

Intimate Partner Assault

On 1 December, 2022, at 7:09pm, Belleville Police attended an address in the north end of Belleville for a domestic dispute. The investigation led to a 26-year-old male, Belleville, Ontario resident, being arrested and charged with assault with a weapon. The male was later released with a court date of the 19^th of December, 2022. As this is an intimate partner violence-related incident, the accused’s name is not being released to protect the victim’s identity.
