Arson and Weapons Charges

On the 14th of December, 2021 Belleville Police were called to a Church Street Belleville, Ontario address for reports of a male throwing a bottle at a building which exploded and caused a minor fire. The fire was extinguished by individuals at the address. The male suspect left the area and was located on Pinnacle Street by police. As a result of investigation into the incident a thirty-six-year-old male Belleville, Ontario resident was charged with multiple criminal offences including Arson, Mischief under $5000.00, Weapons Dangerous, Fail to comply with an undertaking and Fail to comply with a Probation Order. The male was held for a show cause hearing on the 15th of December, 2021. Damage to the building was minor and there are no reports of any injuries. The Belleville Police responded to 82 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on the 14th of December, 2021 and ending at 5:00 am on the 15th of December, 2021.
