Arrested on Warrants

Belleville, ON – On December 13th 2020 at 3:36 p.m. police attended to a residence on the West side of the city to serve documents to an individual.  Upon meeting with the man, it was learned there was a warrant currently held for his arrest.  Police arrested 39-year old Brandon James Spence on the warrant, the charge being failing to appear for fingerprints, and took him into custody.  He will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Monday December 14th for a bail hearing. 

On December 13th 2020 at 10:30 p.m. police were called to a Moira Street East residence for an assistance call.  Responding officers noted a male believed to be wanted on several outstanding charges to be present.  Acting on the authority of a warrant, police arrested a 58-year old city man.  He was taken into custody on a list of charges including: Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, Assault with a weapon, Mischief to property (3 counts) and Criminal Harassment (3 counts).  The name of the man is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victims in this matter.  The man was released on an undertaking to appear in court on January 14th 2021.

Unwanted Guest Arrested

Belleville, ON - On December 13th 2020 at 6:27 pm. police attended to the VIA Rail on Station Street for a report of an unwanted man.  Officers located and spoke with the man, learning he had been the subject of an earlier investigation by city police.  The man, a 39-year old from the city was wanted as he was charged with criminal harassment, failing to comply with an undertaking, and failing to comply with a probation order.  He was taken into custody, transported to the Belleville Police Service, and lodged to a holding cell to await a bail hearing set for December 14th at the Ontario Court of Justice.  His name is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim from the earlier investigation.
