Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 213 calls for service beginning at 5:00 am on the 9th of December, 2022 to 5:00 am on the 12th of December, 2022.

RIDE CHECKS

Belleville, ON –

On Friday, December 10th, 2022, the Belleville Police Service conducted a R.I.D.E. program throughout the city with 225 vehicles checked, and no violations were found.

On December 10th, 2022, the Belleville Police Service conducted a R.I.D.E. program throughout the city with 283 vehicles checked, three field sobriety roadside tests completed. No warnings or charges were laid as a result.

COUNTERFEIT MONEY

Belleville, ON - On December 10th, 2022, a business in the north end of the city called Belleville Police Service regarding a suspect making purchases with counterfeit Canadian currency. The suspects had left the store prior to the police being contacted. The Belleville Police service advises businesses that the bank of Canada offers free training and education about counterfeit money at www.bankofcanada.ca/banknotes/audience-specific-resources

FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH PROBATION

Belleville, ON - On December 11th, 2022, at approximately 8:15 PM, Belleville Police were called to the west end of Belleville regarding a female causing a disruption in a home.  Upon arrival, police found that the suspect was on probation with conditions not to be at the residence and not to communicate with a male at that residence.  The 43-year-old Belleville resident was arrested and charged with failing to comply with probation and released on a form 10 undertaking with a court date of January 9th, 2023. 

ASSAULT

Belleville, ON - On December 11th, 2022, at 3:50 PM, a female contacted Belleville Police regarding being assaulted by a 37-year-old male from Belleville.  The male was later located and arrested by Police for two counts of assault.  The male was held for a show cause hearing on December 12th, 2022. The name of the accused is not being released to protect the identity of the victim.
