The Belleville Police Service responded to 78 calls for service from December 11th, 2020 at 5:00 a.m. to December 12th, 2020 at 5:00 a.m.

Arrested on Warrant

Belleville, ON – On the 12th of December 2020 at 12:45 a.m. Police, while on general patrol in the area of Harvey Street, observed a female known to them to have an outstanding warrant. Police stopped the female and arrested 28-year-old Belleville female, Jaquelin Bloor, on the strength of the outstanding warrant stemming from bail violations. Ms. Bloor was then transported to the Belleville Police Service where she is being held for bail.

Arrested for Impaired – Care & Control

Belleville, Ontario – On the 11th of December 2020 at 8:05 p.m. Police attended the area of North Park Street regarding a call for service where it was reported that an impaired driver was sitting behind the wheel of his vehicle and about to drive away. Police located the vehicle and found a 37-year-old Belleville man, Michael Derby, intoxicated and behind the wheel of his vehicle. Subsequently Police arrested Michael Derby for Impaired Operation, Care & Control, of a motor vehicle. Mr. Derby was transported to the Belleville Police Service where he is to be released on an Undertaking when sober; with a Court date of January 14th 2021 to face the charge.

City Police also report a busy 24-hour period ending at 5:00 a.m. on December 12th 2020.  Police did respond to several incidents that ended peacefully with Police intervention. Those incidents included numerous noise complaints, disturbances, domestics, suspicious persons and vehicles, traffic complaints, neighbour and family disputes, animal complaints, and calls to assist ambulance. Further, several motor vehicle collisions were referred to the Collision Reporting Center located at the Belleville Police Service.
