Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 79 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on the 25th of August, 2022, to 5:00 am on the 26th of August, 2022.

Stolen Bikes

Belleville ON - On Thursday the 25th of August 2022, at 9:41 am, police responded to an address on Victoria Avenue in regards to a stolen bike. The bike is described as a green and grey 275 Viking Mountain Bike. The bike was stolen from the garage sometime overnight on the 24th of August.

Belleville ON - On Thursday the 25th of August, 2022, at 12:17pm, police attended an address on Brimley Court in regards to a stolen bike. The bike was a CCM 29, blue and black in colour. It has a memory foam seat and a yellow and black water bottle holder. The bike was taken at approximately 5:00 pm on the 24th of August.

Domestic Assault

Belleville ON – On Tuesday the 23rd of August, 2022 at 8:08 pm, police responded to an address in east end of Belleville regarding a complaint of a domestic dispute. The victim informed police that she was assaulted by her partner. The suspect had left the scene and police were unable to locate the suspect. On Wednesday the 24th of August, at 2:56 pm, police responded to an address in the West end of Belleville for an unrelated matter. Police recognized the male who they were looking for from the previous day’s domestic incident. As a result of the investigation a 30-year-old Belleville resident was arrested and charged with the following;

2 counts of assault

1 count assault causing bodily harm

1 count of uttering threats

1 count of mischief under $5,000

4 counts of breaching a probation order

The accused was held for a bail hearing on the 26th of August. The name of the accused is being withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
