Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 100 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on the 24th of August, 2022, to 5:00 am on the 25th of August, 2022.

Theft

On the 24th of August 2022 at 6:23 am Belleville Police attended an address on Bay Bridge Road in Belleville, Ontario in regards to a theft. Police received information that overnight a suspect had entered a boat parked in the victim’s lot and stole approximately 35,000 thousand dollars in fishing gear. The Belleville Police Service is continuing its investigation and asks anyone with information to contact the Belleville Police. 

Mischief

On the 24th of August, 2022, at 11:21 am, Belleville Police attended an address on Dundas Street East Belleville, Ontario, in regards to a mischief. The victim reported that a male pushing a shopping cart kicked the mirror off his car. The victim followed the male until police arrived on the scene. As a result, 26-year-old Belleville, Ontario resident Caleb Wilson was arrested and charged with mischief and later released with a court date of the 6th of October, 2022.

Motor Vehicle Collision

On the 25th of August, 2022 2:10 am, Belleville Police received a call regarding a hit and run on North Front Street in Belleville, Ontario. A Black SUV was northbound on North Front Street and went off the road striking a vehicle parked in the lot of 365 North Front Street in Belleville, Ontario. The suspect vehicle then left the scene with extensive damage to the front end. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Belleville Police.
