Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 66 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on the 22nd of August, 2022, to 5:00 am on the 23rd of August, 2022.

 

Domestic Assault

On the 22nd of August 2022 at 6:30 am, Belleville Police were called to a north end residence regarding a domestic incident which had occurred the previous evening.  Investigation revealed that the ex-partner had attended the residence, and he was unwanted.  A physical altercation ensued, the male left the area, and minor injuries to the victim were reported.  As a result of the investigation, a 22-year-old Port Hope, Ontario resident was arrested and charged with Domestic Assault and Uttering Threats to cause mischief.  The accused was released on an undertaking with a court date of the 12th of September, 2022. The name of the accused is not being released to protect the identity of the victim.

Motor Vehicle Collision

On the 22nd of August 2022 at 2:15 pm, Belleville Police were dispatched to the area of Bridge Street and Sidney Street Belleville, Ontario regarding a motor vehicle collision.  Minor injuries were reported and one of the vehicles was not drivable.  As a result of the investigation a 48-year-old Belleville, Ontario, resident was charged with careless driving.
