Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 225 calls for service over a 72-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on the 19th of August, 2022, to 5:00 am on the 22nd of August, 2022.

Drug Arrest

On the 19th of August, 2022, at 7:02 pm, Belleville Police Officers observed a male known to them walking on North Front Street in Belleville, Ontario. Officers were aware that the male had warrants from another jurisdiction. The male was arrested and searched. Police located 15.1 grams of Fentanyl. As a result, 39-year-old Ronald McCloskey was charged with possession of Fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, two breaches of a probation order and one breach of a release order. McCloskey was held for a bail hearing on the 20th of August 2022.

Impaired

On the 12th of July, 2022, Belleville Police responded to a severe motor vehicle collision on Moira Street West just East of Wallbridge-Loyalist Road, Belleville, Ontario. The motor vehicle collision sent three people to Kingston General Hospital with life-threatening injuries.  As a result of an investigation into the collision, 26-year-old Brandon Pomfret of Shannonville, Ontario, was charged with two counts of Impaired Cause Bodily Harm, two counts of Dangerous Operation Causing Bodily Harm, and two counts of Operation Over Legal Limit 80mgs Cause Bodily Harm. The accused will appear in court on September 22, 2022.

Warrants

On Aug. 21, 2022, at 10:00 pm, Belleville Police attended a convenience store for an unwanted female. The female was wanted by Belleville Police for several outstanding arrest warrants. As a result, 36-year-old Katie Cuffe of Belleville, Ontario, was arrested for Theft and two counts of fail to comply with a release order. Cuffe was later released with a court date of September 22nd, 2022.
