Impaired Driver Arrested Entering Belleville
Belleville, ON – On August 10th 2021 at 3:36 p.m., police were notified about a driver entering the city via the Bay Bridge from Prince Edward County. Information was received that the driver had struck a wooden fence post on Massassauga Road, damaging an attached chain-link fence at the same time, leaving this scene, and driving towards Belleville. Upon entering Belleville, it was noted that the post from the chain-link fence was caught and dragging under his motor vehicle. City police intercepted the vehicle, investigated, and arrested the driver without incident. Sean Ford, 27-years of age, of Belleville has been charged with:
- Operating while impaired – alcohol and drugs, contrary to section 320.14(1)(a) of the criminal code.
- Operating with over 80 mgs. of alcohol, contrary to section 320.14(1)(b) of the criminal code.
The accused has had his driver’s licence suspended for 90 days. He was uninjured, and damage to his motor vehicle was moderate. He was released from custody on a Form 10 Undertaking to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Belleville, on September 9th 2021 at 9:00 a.m. Anyone who may have witnessed any of this is asked to please contact investigating officer Cst.
