Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 81 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on the 31st of March, 2022 to 5:00 am on the 1st of April, 2022.

Fail to Comply with Release Order

On the 31st of March 2022 at 5:00 pm, Belleville Police were called to a south-end business regarding an encampment that had been set up on the property without the owner’s permission.  A check of one of the persons found on the lot confirmed there were grounds for his arrest for failing to comply with a release order.  The 43-year-old Belleville resident was arrested and is being held for a bail hearing on the 1st of April 2022.

Assault with Weapon and Theft

On the 31st of March 2022 at 8:00 pm, Belleville Police were called to a north-end business regarding a shoplifter.  Officers were advised that when approached by staff the suspect threatened them with a cane and then left the store with the stolen items.  Officers located the male nearby and he was arrested.  The 60-year-old Belleville resident is charged with assault with a weapon and theft under $5000.  The male was held for a bail hearing on the 1st of April 2022.

Fail to Comply with Probation Order

On the 31st of March 2022 at 12:00 pm, Belleville Police were called to a west-end apartment building regarding a nude male running around the property.  Officers arrived on the scene and located the male in the area and he was arrested.  The male was believed to be under the influence of illegal substances and was cleared medically.  The 51-year-old Belleville resident was charged with committing an indecent act and failing to comply with his probation order.  The male was held for a bail hearing on the 1st of April 2022.
