Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 85 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on the 26th of July, 2022, to 5:00 am on the 27th of July, 2022.

Serious Crash

On the 26th of July at 9:50 pm, Belleville Police, along with Belleville Fire and Paramedics, responded to a motor vehicle collision on Dundas Street East Belleville, Ontario. Investigation into the collision concluded that a vehicle was travelling at a very high rate of speed. The 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt mounted the curb and struck a cement utility pole.  The driver was assisted out of the vehicle by other motorists before emergency crews arrived.  A 39-year-old Nappanee, Ontario male was taken to Belleville General Hospital for assessment of non-life-threatening injuries. The Traffic Management Unit assisted uniform patrol with the crash investigation. The street was closed for several hours while Utilities replaced the cement pole.  The investigation into the collision continues.

Breach of Release Order

On the 27th of July at 1:06 am Belleville Police were called to a gas station on Cannifton Road Belleville, Ontario because a couple couldn’t pay for the gas they had just pumped into their car.  Investigation revealed that the male was on conditions not to be around the female from a prior domestic occurrence.  As a result, a 36-year-old male from Tyendinaga Township, Ontario was arrested and has a bail hearing on the 27th of July, 2022.
