Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 95 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on April 09, 2024 to 5:00 am on April 10, 2024.

Vehicle Tires Slashed

Belleville Police are continuing their investigation after receiving reports of vehicles having their tires slashed between the 30^th of March and the 5^th of April. Tires were slashed on the following dates and times:

• March 30^th – 31^st, one vehicle reported damaged while parked overnight in a commercial parking lot on the corner of Bell Blvd and N. Park St.
• March 31^st - April 1^st, two vehicles had slashed tires overnight – one while parked in a commercial parking lot on the corner of Bell Blvd and N. Park St. and one on McFee St.
• Between March 28^th - April 1^st, two vehicles had slashed tires while parked at a commercial parking lot on Cannifton Rd. near Adam St.
• April 4^th – 5^th, five locations reported vehicles with slashed tires including the same lot parking lot on Bell Blvd at N. Park St, three vehicles on Charles St and one vehicle on Baldwin St. 

Police are looking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in the mischief.  The outer layer of clothing worn by the suspect appears to have a very distinctive emblem or pattern. 

Anyone with information regarding the mischief to vehicles or who can assist in identifying the suspect in the above photo is asked to contact Cst. T. Employee Assaulted

On the 9^th of April at 8:00pm, Belleville Police were called to the Belleville bus terminal on Pinnacle Street regarding a disturbance.  Officers arrived on scene and learned that a female had assaulted an employee and smashed a window on the property before leaving the scene.  The employee suffered minor injuries as a result of the assault.  Officers located the female on Front Street and she was arrested.  It was learned that the female was currently on a Probation Order and was also wanted on outstanding warrants from another police service.  As a result, the 41-year-old female of no fixed address was charged with assault, mischief and breaching her probation.  She is being held for a bail hearing on the 10^th of April 2024.

Traffic stop results in several charges

On the 9^th of April at 4:50pm, a member of the Belleville Police Traffic Safety Unit attempted to stop a vehicle on Dundas Street West.  The vehicle initially failed to pull over for the officer ignoring the activated emergency equipment on the cruiser.  The driver eventually stopped and was arrested.  It was determined that the driver was suspended, there was no insurance on the vehicle and the vehicle had expired plates attached.  As a result of the investigation, the 43-year-old female driver from Prince Edward County was charged with failing to stop, driving while suspended, driving with no insurance and using expired plates.  The driver was released on multiple summons and given a traffic court date in June.

Breach of Release Order

On the 9^th of April at 8:00pm Belleville Police were called to a Palmer Road apartment building regarding a female who was breaching her release conditions.  Officers arrived on scene and learned that the female who had been released on bail conditions a few days prior for harassing her neighbors within the building was causing issues again which was a breach of her release conditions.  As a result, the 45-year-old female from Belleville was arrested and charged with failing to comply with a release order.  She was held in custody for a bail hearing.
