Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 81 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on April 04, 2024 to 5:00 am on April 05, 2024.

 

Mischief

On the 4th of April at 10:30am, Belleville Police were called to an apartment building in the city’s west end regarding a female who was causing a disturbance inside the building. Upon arrival, police spoke to onsite staff and residents of the building and learned that a female dressed in only a hospital gown has been travelling from floor to floor kicking and banging on multiple doors in an attempt to obtain alcohol.  Police located the 45-year-old Belleville resident still in the building going from floor to floor.  The female confirmed that she was seeking alcohol and even asked if police could provide her with any.  As a result of the investigation, the female was arrested and charged with mischief.  She was held in custody for a bail hearing.

 

Motor Vehicle Collision

On the 4th of April at 4:30pm, Belleville Police and EMS responded to a motor vehicle collision that involved two vehicles at the intersection of Bridge St. West and Wellington St.  One of the vehicle occupants was transported to the Belleville General Hospital with minor injuries. One of the vehicles was not drivable following the collision and was towed from the scene.  As a result of the collision, a 22-year-old male driver was charged and issued Provincial Offence Notices under the Highway Traffic Act for failing to yield to traffic on a through highway and failing to surrender his driver’s licence.
