Motor Vehicle Collision leads to Impaired Driving charge

On the 28^th of March at 2:40pm, Belleville Police responded to a two-vehicle motor vehicle collision at the intersection of North Front Street at Tracey Street. No injuries were reported. Police conducted an investigation which led to one of the drivers being arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle. Timothy Soule, 62-years-old of Belleville was charged with impaired operation and over 80mgs. He was released on an Undertaking with a court date in April.  His drivers licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for seven days. 

Domestic Assault leads to arrest

On the 29^th of March at 2:51pm, Belleville Police responded to the area of Albert Street and Dundas Street East for a report of a domestic dispute. Police arrived and began an investigation which revealed that a 38-year-old Belleville man had assaulted a 32-year-old female. As a result, the male was arrested and charged with assault.  He was released on an Undertaking with a court date in May.  The name of the accused is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim.

Breach of Release Order & Mischief

On the 29^th of March at 7:07am, Belleville Police responded to the area of Bridge Street West and Dunnett Blvd for a report of a male acting out and causing mischief to a vehicle. Police attended the area and learned that the suspect caused mischief to a vehicle and was breaching his conditions from a Release Order. Police searched the area and located the male who was a 54-year-old Belleville resident.  As a result, he was arrested and charged with mischief and breaching his Release Order.  He was held for a bail hearing.

Domestic Assault leads to arrest

On the 30^th of March at 2:08am, Belleville Police responded to the area of Britton Place and Tracey Park Drive for a report of a domestic dispute. Upon their arrival, police spoke to the involved parties and learned that a 23-year-old Belleville man had assaulted a 28-year-old female. There were no reported physical injuries.  As a result, the male was arrested and charged with assault.  He was released on an Undertaking with a court date in May.  The name of the accused is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim.

Drug Possession

On the 1^st of April at 8:00pm, Belleville Police initiated a traffic stop on Church Street for a traffic violation.  As the vehicle was stopping, a male passenger exited the vehicle and took off running from the officer.  Officers arriving on scene observed an item fall from the passenger’s pocket as he ran.  The male was detained by police nearby and the item which fell from his pocket was determined to be a baggie containing a quantity of cocaine.  As a result, Travis Todhunter, 42-years-old of Belleville was arrested and charged for the possession of cocaine.  He was released on an Undertaking with a court date in May.

Road rage incident results in collision and criminal charges

On the 1^st of April at 5:00pm, Belleville Police responded to a motor vehicle collision at Old Highway 2 and Mitchell Road in Belleville.  Officers arrived and scene and noted that two vehicles had been involved in a collision.  Both vehicles were drivable and no injuries were reported.  Further evidence gathered revealed that the collision was a result of a road rage incident where one of the drivers intentionally caused the collision.  As a result of the investigation, 73-year-old David Mitchell of Quinte West was charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and released on an Undertaking with a court date in May.

Slashed Tires

Belleville Police began taking multiple reports on the 31^st of March and 1^st of April regarding random vehicle tires being slashed in parking lots in the areas of Bell Boulevard, North Park Street and Cannifton Road which are believed to have occurred sometime overnight on those dates.  The incidents are believed to be related and there are currently no suspects.  Police are continuing to investigate the incidents.  Anyone with any information is asked to call Belleville Police or Crime Stoppers.
