Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 75 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on May 24, 2023 to 5:00 am on May 25, 2023.

 

Trespassing / Breach of probation

On 24 May 2023, at 12:40pm, Belleville Police responded to a call regarding a female causing a disturbance at a Front Street business. Upon arrival, a 35-year-old female of Belleville was arrested for trespassing and later released without charges. Police received another call regarding the same female causing a disturbance at and east end business at 2:45pm. The female was then arrested for failing to comply with a condition of her probation. She was held for a bail hearing on 25 May 2023.

 

Assault

On 24 May 2023, at 4:30pm, Belleville Police responded to a call regarding a male who had attacked someone with a stick at a west end address. The male had left prior to police arrival; however, he was located a short time later in the east end of Belleville.  Justin Eberhardt, 30, of Belleville was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon. He was later released with a June court date.

 

Warrants

On 24 May, 2023 at 4:25pm, Belleville Police responded to a disturbance at an east end restaurant. It was reported that a male was causing a mess inside and refusing to leave. Upon arrival, police identified the male as 45-year-old Jason Nicholson of Belleville. Nicholson was found to have warrants to failing to appear for fingerprints and failing to comply with a release order. Nicholson was arrested and later released with a June court date.
