Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 70 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on April 10, 2023 to 5:00 am on April 11, 2023.

 

Domestic – Breach of Undertaking

On April 10, 2023 at approximately 4pm, Police were called to a west end residence regarding a domestic dispute.  Upon arrival, police spoke to the female who advised that everything was fine.  Further investigation revealed that a 53-year-old Belleville man was also in the residence against two separate release conditions.  The male was not to have communication with the female or be at the residence where he was located.  As a result, the male was arrested and charged with two counts of failing to comply with an Undertaking.  He was held for a bail hearing. 

 

Warrant and Drugs – Arrest

On April 10, 2023 at approximately 10pm, Police were called to a north end business regarding an intoxicated male.  Upon arrival police located the male and it was discovered he had an outstanding warrant for breach of probation.  Upon arrest, the male was searched and a quantity of Fentanyl was located on his person.  The 37-year-old Belleville resident was charged with possession of a Schedule 1 substance and held for a bail hearing.

 

Impaired/Over 80

On April 11, 2023 at approx. 2am, police responded to the intersection of College St. E at North Park St. regarding a single vehicle which had struck a pole.  The male driver fled the scene on foot.  A witness provided a description of the male and a direction of travel.  Police located and arrested the driver in a nearby yard.   Nick Brien, 35 years old of Ottawa was charged with impaired driving, over 80 and fail to remain at the scene of an accident.  Brien was released on an Undertaking with a court date in May 2023.
