Theft

On March 29, 2023 at 4:00 pm police received a call about a shoplifter at a business on Bell Blvd. Prior to police arrival, the suspect had departed the store in a vehicle.  A description of the vehicle was provided to police.  Responding officers observed the vehicle travelling west bound on Bell Blvd.  The vehicle proceeded to a nearby un-named road where the vehicle stopped and the suspect fled on foot.  A number of police units contained the area and the Belleville Police Service K9 Unit attended. Eventually the suspect was discovered by an officer lying under a pile of brush off of Bellevue Drive. The accused, a 21-year-old Kingston resident was arrested. He was charged with theft under $5000, possession of stolen property (stolen vehicle) over $5000, failing to comply with release order x 3 and failing to comply with a probation order x 4. He was held for a bail hearing.

Stunt Driving

On March 29, 2023 at approximately 8:45pm, the Belleville Police Service Traffic Unit were on patrol in the north end of the city when a vehicle was observed travelling at a high rate of speed on Farnham Rd.  The vehicle was stopped by Police and the driver was charged with stunt driving.  The vehicle was traveling at 104 km/h in a 50 km/h zone. As per the Highway Traffic Act, the 37-year-old Carrying Place resident had her driver’s license suspended and vehicle impounded.

Arrest on Warrant

On March 30, 2023 at approximately 2:10am, Belleville Police were called to an apartment building on Turnbull St regarding an unwanted female.  Upon arrival, the female was found to be wanted by the Belleville Police Service on warrants for Failing to attend court.  Angie Nolan, a 32-year-old Belleville resident was arrested without incident and released a short time later on an Undertaking with a court date in April 2023.
