Breach of Probation
On the 23rd of October at 3:21pm, Belleville Police received information that a 27-year-old Belleville woman was currently breaching conditions of her Probation Order that stemmed from domestic related charges. Police conducted an investigation and confirmed the allegations. As a result, police arrested and charged the Belleville woman. She was later released on an Undertaking with conditions and a December court date. Police will not be releasing the name of the accused in an effort to protect the identity of the victim as the original charges relate to a domestic incident.
Family dispute leads to arrest and charges
On the 23rd of October at 4:17pm, Belleville Police attended a residence in the city’s east end regarding a family dispute. Upon their arrival, police spoke to the complainant and learned that she had been physically assaulted by her son and that he had uttered threats of bodily harm towards her. The 32-year-old son had fled the residence prior to police arrival. There were no reported injuries. Police continued the investigation. Later in the day, the suspect attended the Belleville Police Service and turned himself in. He was arrested and charged with assault and uttering threats. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
Belleville Police make second arrest in relation to robbery incident
On the 19th of October at 10:16pm, Belleville Police responded to the area of Bridge St. and Pinnacle St. regarding a stabbing. Officers arrived on scene and located a victim suffering from lacerations to his head and arms. The victim advised he was attacked with an edged weapon as a male and female suspect were attempting to steal his bag. The pair of suspects left the area after the attack with the victim’s bag. The victim was transported by paramedics to the Belleville General Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Through their investigation, police were able to identify both suspects.
On the 20th of October, officers located and arrested the 38-year-old male suspect of no fixed address. He was charged with robbery, assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm and breach of probation. He was held for a bail hearing.
Police continued their efforts to locate and arrest the involved female suspect. Belleville Police sought a warrant for her arrest. On the 23rd of October at 2:26pm, police located and arrested the 37-year-old female of no fixed address. She was arrested on the strength of the warrant which was for fail to comply with Probation and robbery with violence. She was held in custody for a bail hearing.
