Belleville Police Service responded to 45 calls for service from the 26th of December 2018 at 5:00 a.m. to the 27th of December 2018 at 5:00 a.m.

 Breach of Undertaking

Belleville, ON – On the 26th of December 2018 at 5:00 p.m., police responded to a north end mall with regard to a 16 year-old male who was causing a disturbance and being held by security. Upon police arrival, it was determined that the male was breaching a condition of an officer-in-charge undertaking that he was previously released on due to a criminal charge by communicating with the victim of the original charge. The Belleville resident was transported to The Belleville Police Service where he was later released on a promise to appear to his surety on a charge of breach of undertaking. He was given a January court date to answer to the new charge. His name cannot be released due to stipulations under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Police Involved Motor Vehicle Collision

Belleville, ON – On the 26th of December shortly after 7:00 p.m., while responding to a 3 vehicle accident, a member of The Belleville Police Service was involved in a collision at the intersection of North Front St. and College St. The two vehicle accident was minor in nature and did not result in any injury. There were no charges laid in the matter. The other collision which the officer was initially responding to resulted in minor injury and one driver was charged with following too closely.
