Warrants
On June 21, 2026, at 6:51 p.m., Belleville Police responded to a call reporting that a woman had animals tied to a fence in the area of Bay Bridge Road. Upon arrival, officers did not locate any animals in distress.
During the investigation, officers confirmed the female suspect had an outstanding Belleville Police Service arrest warrant. As a result, Lacy Gagne, 40-year-old Belleville woman, was arrested on the strength of the warrant and released on an undertaking with a scheduled court date in July.
Robbery / Assault
On June 20, 2026, at 3:14 p.m., Belleville Police responded to a residence in the city’s west end for a reported assault.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with a female who reported that a male held a knife to her neck, uttered threats, stole money and personal belongings, and fled the area on a bicycle.
Officers located the male suspect nearby and arrested him for robbery and assault with a weapon. During a search, officers also found a quantity of methamphetamine and cocaine in his backpack.
While officers were placing the male in the cruiser, he began kicking the outside of the vehicle. EMS attended and transported him to a local hospital, where the male continued to be disruptive, yelling at staff and attempting to bite an officer.
As a result, a 40-year-old Belleville man of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with:
- Possession of a schedule I substance – cocaine
- Possession of a schedule I substance – methamphetamine
- Robbery and wounding
- Assault with a weapon – spousal
- Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm
- Assault a peace officer
- Resist peace officer
- Fail to comply with probation order X2
He was held for a bail hearing.
Fail to Remain / Impaired Driving
On June 20, 2026, at 4:04 p.m., Belleville Police responded to a business parking lot on Bell Boulevard regarding a motor vehicle collision where the suspect vehicle fled the scene.
Officers arrived and spoke with a driver whose vehicle had sustained significant front-end damage. The driver reported their vehicle was struck by another vehicle, which then continued through the parking lot and was involved in a second collision.
Officers located the male suspect inside a nearby business. Upon speaking with him, officers observed signs of impairment.
As a result of investigation, Wayne Pearson, 74-year-old Belleville man, was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80 mg
- Failure to stop after accident
He was released on an Undertaking with a scheduled court date in August.
Bay Bridge Incident
On June 20, 2026, at 8:37 p.m., Belleville Police responded to a report of an individual sitting on the outer ledge of the Bay Bridge.
Officers located a male on the ledge, and the bridge was temporarily closed while officers communicated with him. The male eventually agreed to safely come off the ledge and off the bridge without incident.
Fail to Comply
On June 19, 2026, at 9:09 a.m., Belleville Police on general patrol observed a male exit a vehicle and enter an apartment complex. Officers spoke with the driver and learned that the passenger was a male subject to conditions prohibiting contact with the female driver.
Officers located the male and placed him under arrest. During the arrest, he actively resisted officers.
As a result, a 47-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged with:
- Fail to comply with a probation order X4
- Resist peace officer
He was held for a bail hearing.
