Traffic stop leads to arrest on warrant

A 50-year-old Belleville women is being held for a bail hearing after a traffic stop conducted by Belleville Police on Thursday afternoon.  The officer recognized the driver who was suspended and pulled the vehicle over on Front Street at 1:15pm.  The officer also discovered the driver was wanted on outstanding charges of fail to appear for court and fail to comply with an Undertaking.  As a result, Terri-Lynn Lafrance was arrested on the strength of the outstanding warrant and additionally charged with driving while suspended and fail to display two licence plates. 

Theft and Mischief

On the 22nd of January, Belleville Police began a shoplifting investigation after being called to a business on Dundas Street West.  Police learned that the suspect had exited the store without paying for several items.  Prior to leaving, the man also intentionally knocked over a garbage can, emptying the contents and then proceeded to throw the lid across the property.  On the 23rd of January at 11:15pm, police located the suspect.   The 31-year-old male of no fixed address was arrested and charged with theft under $5000 and mischief under $5000.  He was held for a bail hearing.
