Traffic stop leads to impaired driving charge

On the 24th of January at 7:26pm, Belleville Police attended an address in the city’s east end for an initial request to assist paramedics regarding a medical call.  While on-scene, police learned a 34-year-old female and 46-year-old male had been involved in a physical altercation with one another. Both parties sustained physical injuries.   As a result of the police investigation, both parties were charged with assault. The male was additionally charged with breach of probation, uttering threats to cause death and uttering threats to kill an animal. The female was released on an Undertaking and the male was held for a show cause hearing.

Domestic Assault

On the 24th of January at 10:22pm, officers conducted a traffic stop on Bell Blvd and spoke to the driver.  During the investigation, the officer formed the belief that the driver was impaired by alcohol.  The driver was subsequently arrested and transported to the Belleville Police Service for further testing.  As a result, Ryan Hennessey, 30-years-old of Flinton was charged with Operation while impaired – alcohol and Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus.  He was released on an Undertaking with a court date in February.

Suspended driver and no insurance

On the 25th of January at 11:40pm, officers on patrol stopped a vehicle on Brock St.  During the stop, officers learned that the driver was suspended and operating his vehicle with no insurance.  As a result, the driver was charged with driving while suspended and driving a motor vehicle with no insurance.  The vehicle was towed.   The 39-year-old male driver was issued a summons for a traffic court date. 

Disturbance leads to arrest and charges

On the 26th January at 11:09am, police were called to a Cannifton Rd address for a report of a disturbance. Police arrived and found a male well known to them had entered an apartment and broken a window.  During the arrest, the male refused officers commands and he was subdued with the assistance of a conductive energy weapon. The male was charged with four counts of breach of probation.  During their investigation, police learned that the male had been released from custody on January 23rd.   As a result, the 41-year-old male of no fixed address was held for a bail hearing.

Security guard assaulted at Belleville General Hospital

On the 26th of January at 1:33pm, police were called to the Belleville General Hospital Emergency Department for a report of a disturbance. Police arrived and learned that a female patient had physically assaulted a security guard. During their investigation, police learned that the suspect had been released from custody on the 24th of January.  As a result, the 25-year-old female from Belleville was arrested and charged with assault and two counts of breach of probation.  She was held in custody for a bail hearing.
