Front Desk

At the police station, those in need of assistance will be greeted by the friendly faces of staff members working at the front desk. On a regular basis, there are two special constables and one constable working at the front desk area.

Whether it be to collect an accident report or police background check, make contact with a specific constable or detective, or to report a crime, the staff members working at the front desk are always happy to assist.

“People who are nervous about talking to the police will come here and we will serve as the mediators for  those who might not be sure what they need to do.” says Special Constable Burley.

The constables working at the front desk also oversee non-emergency calls, handling calls that will lighten the burden for the dispatch team working on emergency calls.

Special Constable Burley says, “If the call needs immediate attention, we send it to dispatch. If the call is a non-emergency or something that can be settled relatively easily, that’s our responsibility.”

The front desk staff work closely with constables to settle disputes and problems. If the situation requires it, the front desk staff can dispatch a member of the police to look after the matter.

The front desk has staff to provide assistance from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. located at 93 Dundas Street East.
