Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 84 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on February 18, 2025 to 5:00 am on February 19, 2025.
Domestic Assault
On the 18th of February at 5:43pm, Belleville Police received a call from a citizen who was concerned about a 27-year-old fellow employee. Police received information that the female employee was experiencing domestic abuse and constantly showing up to work with bruising on her body. Police immediately began an investigation. At the conclusion of the investigation, a 28-year-old male from Brampton was arrested and charged with two counts of assault. He was held for a bail hearing.

Take motor vehicle without permission leads to several charges
On the 18th of February at 7:13am, Belleville Police received a call from a complainant who advised his uncle had taken his vehicle with out his permission. The complainant provided further information that his uncle does not have a driver licence. Officers attended the area and quickly located the vehicle. Police arrested the 68-year-old male without incident. As a result of the subsequent police investigation, police charged Paul Rioux of no fixed address with two counts of driving while suspended, take motor vehicle without consent and 12 counts of operating a vehicle while prohibited under the Criminal Code. He was held for a bail hearing. The vehicle was returned to the owner.
