Brave polar bears plunge into the Bay of Quinte

Jumping into the Bay of Quinte in March isn't for the faint of heart.

But a group of Belleville police, firefighters, parole and probation officers did just that on Friday afternoon at the annual Polar Plunge to raise funds for Special Olympics Ontario.  There are 25,000 athletes across the province and 80 locally that Ontario Polar Plunge supports.

"This is the least we can do for what they do every day as athletes," said organizer Inspector Sherri Meeks as she dried off with a towel following her plunge.
