The Belleville Police Service Board celebrated members of its service Thursday for everything from provincially recognized accomplishments to kindness to the community.

The board, meeting at City Hall in an open meeting for the first time since the pandemic began, paid tribute to a handful of officers and one civilian who have gone above and beyond the call.

Board chair Jack Miller noted that especially during these times when there is so much attention on policing and some of the negative elements, it was important to recognize the good as well.
