Intimate Partner Violence

On April 16th at approximately 9:00pm, Belleville Police responded to a residence in the city’s north end regarding a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, it was reported that a verbal argument escalated into a physical confrontation in which a male struck a female in the face and retrieved a knife during the altercation.

As a result of police investigation, a 48-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault – spousal
  • Assault with a weapon – spousal
 

He was held for a bail hearing.

Mischief

On April 16th at 6:55pm, Belleville Police responded to a residence in the city’s east end regarding a disturbance. It was reported that a verbal altercation escalated when a male threw a vacuum at a female’s vehicle, damaging the windshield.

As a result of police investigation, a 49-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged with Mischief – domestic.

He was released on an Undertaking with a scheduled court date in June.

Impaired Driver

On April 17th at 1:46am, Belleville Police conducted a traffic stop on Wallbridge Loyalist Rd. Officers spoke to the male driver, and as a result of police investigation, Balakrishnan Pandalangat, 61-year-old Frankford man, was arrested and charged with Operation while impaired – alcohol and Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80mg.

He was released on an Undertaking with a scheduled court date in May.
