Assault

On September 3, 2026, at 8:39 a.m., Belleville Police responded to the city’s east end regarding an assault.

It was reported that an unknown female began following a woman who was walking in the area while yelling at her. The woman contacted police, and while speaking with dispatch, the suspect threatened her before assaulting her by punching and choking her.

Upon arrival, officers observed the suspect actively assaulting the victim. Officers immediately intervened and placed the suspect under arrest.

As a result of the investigation, a 42-year-old Belleville woman of no fixed address was arrested and charged with:

  • Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm
  • Assault causing bodily harm – choke
  • Assault
  • Fail to comply with probation order X4
 

She was held for a bail hearing.

Intimate Partner Violence

On September 3, 2026, at 10:10 a.m., Belleville Police responded to a residence in the city’s west end regarding a domestic dispute.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with both parties and learned that a verbal argument between a male and female had escalated into a physical altercation.

As a result of the investigation, a 36-year-old Belleville woman was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault – spousal

 

She was released on an Undertaking with a court date in October.  

Intimate Partner Violence

On September 3, 2026, at 11:01 a.m., Belleville Police responded to a business in the city’s east end regarding a domestic dispute.

Upon arrival, it was reported that a male and a female had been involved in a verbal argument. The male left the area and attended a nearby business; however, the female followed him, and the argument continued. While at the business, the dispute escalated, and the female struck the male.

As a result of the investigation, a 57-year-old Belleville woman was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault – spousal


She was released on an Undertaking with a court date in October.

Assault, Mischief

On September 3, 2026, at 3:37 p.m., Belleville Police responded to a residence in the city’s east end regarding a disturbance.

Upon arrival, it was reported that a female had been causing ongoing issues at the residence, including damaging the home’s siding. Police also learned that the female had spit on other individuals inside the residence.

As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old Belleville woman was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault
  • Mischief – damages property
  • Fail to comply with probation order X4
  • Fail to comply with release order

 

She was released on an Undertaking with a court date in December.

Mischief, Causing a Disturbance

On September 3, 2026, at 6:13 p.m., Belleville Police responded to the city’s north end following reports of a female walking in the roadway. Officers located the female and spoke with her.

During the investigation, officers learned that police had responded to 26 similar incidents involving the same individual since June 2026, in which she was reported to be walking on the roadway.

As a result of the investigation, an 18-year-old Belleville woman was arrested and charged with:

  • Causing a disturbance
  • Mischief

She was released on an Undertaking with a court date in December.
