Assault and Mischief

On May 31st, Belleville Police investigated a report of mischief that had occurred the previous day. It was reported that a female approached a male at a west end park and initiated a verbal confrontation. During the incident, the female took the male’s e-scooter and threw it onto the concrete, causing damage.

Through investigation, officers identified a suspect.

On June 2nd at 7:42 p.m., Belleville Police responded to a separate report of a dispute in the area of South Front Street. It was reported that two males were approached by a group of youth who initiated a verbal confrontation. The situation escalated, resulting in one of the males being pushed into the water and the second being thrown to the ground.

Officers reviewed video surveillance and observed a female throwing one male to the ground.

Police identified the
female suspect as the same individual involved in the earlier mischief
incident.

As a result of the investigation, officers located and arrested a 15-year-old Belleville female, whose identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. She has been charged with:

  • Assault
  • Mischief

She was held for a bail hearing.
