Impaired Driving
On June 27th at 3:26pm, Belleville Police assisted Prince Edward OPP with a report of a male who appeared extremely intoxicated getting into a vehicle in Rossmore. Belleville Police located the suspect vehicle in the area of Highway 62 and County Road 3, which was observed driving erratically. The officer attempted a traffic stop where the driver swerved across the roadway and onto the curb at the intersection of Highway 62 and County Road 28. The driver was observed to be extremely intoxicated and refused to exit the vehicle when being placed under arrest. The driver was transported to the Belleville Police Service, where breath samples were obtained and registered in excess of the legal limit.
As a result of the investigation, Joshua Baldasti, 36-year-old Colbourne resident, was charged with:
- Impaired operation, over 80 mgs
- Resisting arrest
Baldasti’s license was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for 7 days. He was later released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in August 2025.
Single Vehicle Motor Vehicle Collision and Impaired Driving
On June 27th at 3:10am, Belleville Police responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Bell Blvd. near Cannifton Rd. Officers arrived and found the car had been travelling east bound in the west bound lanes when it left the roadway, struck a concrete pole and was severely damaged. Witnesses described a female driver fleeing the scene on foot. Approximately 40 minutes after the collision, the driver returned to the scene and was assessed by EMS with minor injuries. The driver was transported to the Belleville Police Service, where breath samples were obtained and registered in excess of the legal limit.
As a result of the investigation, Sara Gallacher, 31-year-old Belleville resident, was arrested and charged with:
- Impaired operation, over 80 mgs
Gallacher’s license was suspended for 90 days and her vehicle impounded for 7 days. She was later released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in July 2025.
Motor Vehicle Collision and Impaired Driving
On June 27th at 10:30pm, Belleville Police responded to a two-vehicle collision in the 200 block of Harmony Rd. Officers attended the area and observed that a pickup truck had been travelling on Harmony Rd, left the road and struck a vehicle parked on the side of the road. Witnesses told police that the driver had left the scene on foot. Officers located the driver approximately 1 km from the scene and observed signs of impairment. The driver was transported to the Belleville Police Service, where breath samples were obtained and registered in excess of the legal limit.
As a result of the investigation, Andrew Urch, 36-year-old Corbyville resident, was arrested and charged with:
- Impaired operation, over 80 mgs
- Failure to remain at the scene
The driver was also found to be wanted on an arrest warrant from the OPP.
Urch’s license was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for 7 days. He was later released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in August 2025. He was also released in relation to his warrant by way of an Undertaking.
Traffic Enforcement Leads to Drug Arrest
On June 28th at 8:18am, officers on general patrol conducted a traffic stop on Station Street. During their investigation, officers learned that the driver of the vehicle was currently suspended from operating a motor vehicle.
A search of the vehicle incident to arrest revealed an amount of suspected crack cocaine along with drug paraphernalia indictive of trafficking. The driver and passenger were both arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. The driver was additionally charged with:
- Driving while under suspension
- Use defaced plate
- Failure to surrender insurance
- Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor
Two 41-year-old Belleville women, Nicole Whitman and Sari Durrette, were held in custody for a bail hearing.
Wanted for Assault
On June 29th at 3:40am, Belleville Police on general patrol observed an unconscious male on the roadway on Front Street. The male had been assaulted with a weapon and pepper sprayed, and was transported to Belleville General Hospital with minor injuries. The incident was captured on CCTV cameras and revealed that 2 males and 1 female assaulted the victim.
The suspects are wanted for:
- Assault with a weapon
- Administering a noxious substance

Break and Enter, Theft
On June 29th at 9:00am, Belleville Police were notified that an unreported pickup truck stolen from a business in the city’s northwest end had been located in Grafton by the OPP. It was later confirmed that the business had been broken into overnight, and that the truck was stolen by driving it through a fence on the property. A male was found inside the stolen truck when it was located.
As a result of the investigation, Brandon Dubblestein, 28-year-old Quinte West resident, was arrested and charged with:
- Break and Enter
- Theft of a motor vehicle
- Mischief under $5,000
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
Dubblestein was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in August 2025.
Breach of probation
On June 29th at 5pm, Belleville Police were called to a residence in the city’s west end regarding a domestic dispute. Officers attended and spoke to the parties involved. During their investigation, officers learned that the involved male was breaching the conditions of a previous probation order by communicating with the female party. As a result, police arrested and charged a 32-year-old Belleville resident with failure to comply with probation order. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
