Impaired Driver
On October 8, 2026, at 12:58 a.m., Belleville Police responded to the area of North Front Street and Tracey Street for a report of a single-vehicle collision.
It was reported that a vehicle had struck a utility pole and that the driver was attempting to leave the area.
Upon arrival, officers observed the driver exit the damaged vehicle and walk toward another vehicle parked nearby. Officers located the driver and observed signs of impairment while speaking with him.
As a result of the investigation, Ahmad Anas, a 39-year-old Belleville man, was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80 mg.
He was released on an undertaking with a court date in November.
Weapons
On October 7, 2026, Belleville Police investigated a report involving a firearm.
During the investigation, officers spoke with an individual who reported that during an interaction on October 6, a male who was known to them pointed a firearm at them and made threats.
As a result of the investigation, Belleville Police, with the assistance of the Emergency Response Unit, executed a search warrant during the evening of October 7.
A 38-year-old Belleville man was located, arrested and charged with:
- Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order X3
- Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm
- Pointing a firearm
He was held for a bail hearing.
