Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 105 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on May 20, 2026 to 5:00 am on May 21, 2026.
Weapons Incident
On May 20th at approximately 12:45pm, Belleville Police responded to a report of a weapons incident in the city’s east end. It was reported that a student from an east end secondary school approached another student and demanded their pizza while brandishing a knife.
As a result of investigation, a 17-year-old Belleville female, whose identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Robbery with a weapon
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
She was released on an Undertaking with a scheduled court date in July.
Assault
On May 20th at approximately 5:00pm, Belleville Police attended a residence in the city’s east end regarding a dispute. It was reported that a verbal altercation between multiple individuals escalated when one male pushed a second male onto a couch. A third individual was also present. Through investigation, officers learned the same male who pushed the victim also threatened the third individual and, earlier in the month, had thrown an object at that same person.
As a result of police investigation, a 46-year-old Thomasburg man, was arrested and charged with:
- Assault
- Assault – spousal
- Uttering threats – spousal
He was released on an Undertaking with a scheduled court date in July.
