Domestic Assault / Flight from Police
On March 13, 2025, at 8:00am, a 32-year-old man from Belleville turned himself into Belleville Police on outstanding warrants. The accused had been involved in a domestic assault back in the Fall of 2024, but the victim did not report the incident to police at the time.
An investigation was initiated and police had attempted to arrest the accused earlier, but he fled the scene in a vehicle at a high rate of speed evading arrest.
The accused is now facing the following charges:
- Uttering Threats to Cause Bodily Harm (2 counts)
- Assault (2 counts)
- Criminal Harassment
- Flight from Police
- Dangerous Driving
The accused was held in custody and will appear in court today, March 14th, 2025 for a bail hearing.
Warrants
On March 13, 2025, at 10:30pm, the Belleville Police responded to a call regarding an unwanted male at a business in the north end of the city. The store manager reported that the male suspect was drinking alcohol outside of the establishment.
Upon arrival, officers located the 38-year-old suspect from Belleville, and discovered that he was wanted on outstanding warrants. He was subsequently charged with Failing to Comply with a Release Order. The warrants stemmed from a similar incident that occurred on February 6, 2025, where the suspect had breached the conditions of his previous release order.
The accused was transported to the Belleville Police station and held in custody. He will appear in bail court later today, March 14th, 2025.
