Assault
On July 23, 2026, at 9:35 p.m., Belleville Police responded to the city’s east end regarding a report of an assault.
It was reported that an individual observed a male and female involved in a dispute, during which the male attempted to physically prevent the female from leaving. The individual intervened, and the female left the area. The male then assaulted the individual by punching him and uttered threats to stab him.
As a result of investigation, a 42-year-old Belleville man of no fixed address was located, arrested and charged with:
- Assault X2
- Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm
- Fail to comply with probation order
He was held for a bail hearing.
Fail to Comply
On July 23, 2026, at 8:31 p.m., Belleville Police attended a call for service in the city’s east end.
Upon arrival, officers observed a male and a female together and spoke with them. It was learned the male was bound by conditions prohibiting contact with the female.
As a result of investigation, a 29-year-old Belleville man of no fixed address was arrested and charged with:
- Fail to comply with an undertaking
He was held for a bail hearing.
Belleville Police Seeking Witnesses in Daytime Robbery
On July 20, 2026, Belleville Police investigated a reported daytime robbery in the area of Pepper Avenue.
At approximately 1:05 p.m., an elderly male was approached by a male and female who forcibly removed his gold chain and attempted to replace it with a counterfeit chain. The suspects also attempted to remove the victim’s gold watch but were unsuccessful.
The suspects are described as a male and a female and were operating a white Chevrolet Equinox.
