BELLEVILLE, ON – The Belleville Police Service commemorated its 190th Anniversary on June 18, 2026, with a full day of events honouring its long-standing commitment to the community.

The milestone brought together current and former members, partners, dignitaries, and residents in a shared celebration of service and progress. A formal ceremony at 10:00 a.m. highlighted the occasion, while guided tours throughout the day welcomed the public. Attendees connected with officers and staff, explored specialized units, and gained insight into the evolving nature of policing.

“This was a truly special day,” said Chief Murray Rodd. “As we mark 190 years, we recognize that we stand on the shoulders of those who came before us, individuals whose dedication laid the foundation for the Service we are today. It was equally meaningful to share this milestone with our community, whose continued support and partnership are essential to the work we do every day.”

The anniversary served as a powerful reflection of the relationship between the Belleville Police Service and the people it serves, which is built on trust, collaboration and shared responsibility. It honoured the past while looking ahead to the future.

The Belleville Police Service extends its sincere thanks to everyone who attended and contributed to making the celebration a success, along with its community partners whose ongoing support remains essential to public safety.
