On August 24, 2026, at 2:23 p.m., Belleville Police responded to a call for service in the city’s east end. It was reported that a female had thrown rocks at a vehicle belonging to the residence where she lives before leaving the property. As a result, a window of the vehicle was smashed. Police also learned that the female was bound by release conditions, including a requirement to abide by the rules of the residence.
As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old Belleville woman was arrested and charged with:
- Mischief under $5000
- Fail to comply with probation order X4
She was released on an Undertaking with a court date in September.
Assault
On August 24, 2026, at 9:44 p.m., Belleville Police responded to a residence in the city’s east end regarding a disturbance. Upon police arrival, it was reported that a verbal altercation escalated when a male choked another male and struck his head against a bathtub.
As a result of the investigation, a 31-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged with:
- Assault

Intimate Partner Violence
On August 24, 2026, at 10:43 p.m., Belleville Police responded to an apartment complex in the city’s east end regarding a domestic dispute. It was reported that yelling could be heard coming from one of the apartment units. Upon police arrival, officers spoke with the parties and learned that a male had grabbed a female by the throat.
As a result of the investigation, a 44-year-old Belleville man of no fixed address was arrested and charged with:
- Assault – spousal
- Fail to comply with probation order
He was held for a bail hearing.
Impaired Driver
On August 25, 2026, at 2:34 a.m., Belleville Police responded to a call for service in the area of Church Street and Victoria Avenue regarding a possible impaired driver after a vehicle was observed stopped in an intersection for an extended period.
Upon arrival, officers located the suspect vehicle stopped in the roadway with its engine running. Officers approached the vehicle and spoke to the driver and observed signs of impairment.
As a result of the investigation, Jennifer Babin, a 43-year-old Picton woman, was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
She was released on an Undertaking with a court date in September.
