Impaired Driver
On April 12th at 1:44am, Belleville Police responded to a report of a suspected impaired driver in the area of Old Highway 2 and Point Anne Rd. It was reported that a vehicle was observed swerving into oncoming traffic before colliding with a hydro pole.
Upon arrival, the driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot, initiating a brief foot pursuit that included jumping over a fence. The driver was taken into a custody a short distance away.
As a result of police investigation, Isaac Wing, 21-year-old Belleville man, was arrested and charged with:
- Obstruct peace officer
- Operation while impaired – alcohol
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80mg.
- Novice driver B.A.C above zero (HTA)
He was released on an Undertaking with a scheduled court date in June.
Break and Enter
On April 2nd, Belleville Police investigated a report of a break and enter at a business. Video surveillance captured a male using an object to gain entry through a door, after which he was seen taking a toolbox and leaving the building.
Police reviewed the footage and identified a suspect.
On April 12th at approximately 10:25pm, Belleville Police observed the suspect walking on Front Street.
As a result, a 59-year-old Belleville man of no fixed address was arrested and charged with:
- Break and enter
- Theft under $5000
He was held for a bail hearing.
Warrant
On April 13th at 12:20am, Belleville Police on general patrol observed a female leaving a business in the city’s north end. She was known to have an outstanding Belleville Police Service arrest warrant for failing to attend fingerprinting.
As a result, Racheal Meehan, 34-year-old Belleville woman of no fixed address was arrested on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.
