Community Invited to Prayer Walk for Peace

BELLEVILLE, ON – Community members are invited to attend a Prayer Walk for Peace on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., beginning at St. Thomas Church in Belleville.

The event will bring together people from across the community to pray, reflect, and walk together in support of peace, unity, healing, and public safety. The event is open to everyone, regardless of faith or background.

“This is an opportunity for people to come together around a common goal,” said Belleville Police Service Chaplain Brad Beale. “Whether you’re part of a faith community or not, everyone is welcome. The focus is on unity, respect, community safety and how we support one another as a community.”

Participants will gather at the property of St. Thomas’ Anglican Church and then proceed together to a nearby gathering site for prayers, readings, and remarks from community leaders.

Participants are asked to attend respectfully. To help maintain the welcoming and inclusive nature of the event, attendees are encouraged to wear neutral clothing and refrain from bringing signs, banners, or other displays.

Route details will be provided at the start of the event.

Please note that Constable Jeff Smith will not be attending the Prayer Walk. The event is a community-led gathering focused on peace, healing, and unity.
