Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 134 calls for service over 24 hours beginning at 5:00 a.m. on August 18, 2026, to 5:00 a.m. on August 19, 2026.
Public Mischief
On August 18, 2026, Belleville Police received more than 10 non-emergency 911 calls from the same male. The individual was warned about the misuse of emergency communications; however, the calls continued.
During the investigation, officers also learned that the male had contacted Paramedic Services multiple times over 24 hours, requesting transportation to hospital despite having no medical concerns requiring transport.
As a result of the investigation, a 65-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged with:
- Public mischief
- Fail to comply with probation order
He was held for a bail hearing.
Assault
On August 18, 2026, at 8:48 p.m., Belleville Police responded to a residence in the city’s east end regarding a disturbance.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with those involved and learned that a verbal dispute between a male and female had escalated when the male attempted to punch the female.
As a result of the investigation, a 22-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged with:
- Assault
He was held for a bail hearing.
