Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 94 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on August 10, 2026, to 5:00 am on August 11, 2026.
Possession of a Dangerous Weapon leads to arrest
On August 10 at 7:15 p.m., members of the Belleville Police Service responded to a report of a female in possession of a knife outside a business on College Street East.
Police were advised that the female was requesting money from patrons while in possession of the knife.
Upon arrival, officers located the female and confirmed that she was in possession of a knife. The female was arrested without incident.
As a result of the investigation, 21-year-old Jada Sweet, of no fixed address, was charged with Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose.
Sweet was later released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in November.
