Mischief

On August 9, 2026, Belleville Police investigated a report of mischief at a business on Wallbridge Loyalist Road.

It was reported that sometime overnight, an unknown male entered a sea can, stole various items, and damaged the locking mechanism.

Officers reviewed surveillance footage and identified a suspect and learned that the suspect was wanted on outstanding Belleville Police Service arrest warrants.

At approximately 12:20 p.m., officers located the suspect in the city’s east end.

As a result of police investigation, a 49-year-old Belleville man of no fixed address was arrested and charged with:

  • Mischief under $5000
  • Break and enter – commit indictable offence
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Outstanding warrants executed
 

He was held for a bail hearing.

Breach of Probation

On August 9, 2026, at 2:33 a.m., Belleville Police conducted a traffic stop in the city’s west end.

 

During the investigation, officers learned that the driver was bound by several court-ordered conditions, including prohibiting communication with one of the passengers in the vehicle.

As a result of the police investigation, a 24-year-old Pembroke man was arrested and charged with:

  • Fail to comply with a probation order X4
 

He was held for a bail hearing.

Assault

On August 9, 2026, at 3:25 a.m., Belleville Police responded to a report of an assault involving an employee of a local taxi company.

It was reported that during transportation, a male passenger struck the taxi driver in the head.

As a result of police investigation, Brock Serson, a 37-year-old Quinte West man, was located, arrested and charged with:

  • Assault
 

He was released on an Undertaking with a court date in October.

Male Arrested After Internet Child Exploitation Investigation

On August 7, 2026, after an investigation conducted by the Belleville Police Service’s Internet Child Exploitation Unit, a 28-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation material
  • Transmitting child sexual abuse and exploitation material

The male was held for a bail hearing.

Motor Vehicle Collision Involving Cyclist

On August 7, 2026, at 6:53 p.m., Belleville Police and Emergency Services responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a cyclist in the area of North Front Street and College Street.

A male youth was struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle on the roadway. He was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

North Front Street was closed for several hours while members of the Belleville Police Service conducted their investigation. The roadway reopened shortly before 10:00 p.m.

The investigation remains ongoing.
