Weapons
On July 9, 2026, at 9:32 p.m., Belleville Police responded to a call in the city’s east end regarding an individual in possession of a firearm.
Upon arrival, it was reported that a physical altercation had occurred between two individuals, during which a third male intervened and pointed a firearm at the involved individuals. All three parties then fled the scene on foot.
Officers reviewed video surveillance and observed the suspect in possession of a firearm prior to fleeing. Officers located the male a short distance away; however, did not locate a firearm.
As a result of investigation, a 47-year-old Belleville man of no fixed address was arrested and charged a with:
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Pointing a firearm
He was held for a bail hearing.
MVC vs. Pedestrian
On July 9, 2026, at 7:18 p.m., Belleville Police responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle in the area of Moira Street East.
Upon arrival, EMS was assessing the female for injuries. Officers investigated and no charges were laid. The 25-year-old female pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
