Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 92 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on April 21, 2026 to 5:00 am on April 22, 2026.

Prohibited driver

On April 21st at 10:39pm, Belleville Police responded to a report of suspicious activity in a parking lot on North Front Street. It was reported that two vehicles were observed switching licence plates.

Officers located both suspect vehicles, each displaying the same licence plate, and conducted a traffic stop of both vehilces. During the investigation, officers determined that the male driver was a prohibited driver. Methamphetamine was also located in his possession.

As a result of investigation, a 55-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while prohibited
  • Possession of a schedule I substance – methamphetamine
  • Fail to comply with a release order
  • Permit use of plate not authorized for vehicle (HTA)
  • Driving while under suspension (HTA)
  • Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle (HTA)
  • Owner operate a motor vehicle without insurance (CAIA)
  • Fail to surrender insurance card (CAIA)

He was held for a bail hearing.

The female driver was issued a Provincial Offence Notice for Use of plate not authorized for vehicle under the Highway Traffic Act.

Neighbour Dispute

On April 21st at 1:30pm, Belleville Police responded to a neighbour dispute at a residence in the city’s west end.

Police learned that a verbal argument between two neighbouring households escalated when a male from one residence charged at the neighbour, while a female from the same residence swung an object at the neighbour.

Upon investigation, it was learned that the male involved was on conditions to not communicate with the neighbours.

As a result of investigation, the following persons were arrested and charged:

A 41-year-old Belleville woman was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon. She was released on an Undertaking with a scheduled court date in July.

A 40-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged with Fail to comply with a probation order X2. He was released on an Undertaking with a scheduled court date in July.
