The pedestrian was pronounced deceased.

Pedestrian Struck by Train — Rail Crossings Temporarily Blocked
At approximately 7:50 a.m. on February 23, Belleville Police Service responded to an incident involving a pedestrian who was struck by a train.
Officers remain on scene and the investigation is ongoing.
As a result of the incident, the train is currently blocking several railway crossings, affecting the area from Haig Road to South Front Street.
The Belleville Police Service is asking the public to avoid the affected crossings and use alternate routes until the scene has been cleared.
