Impaired Driver
On February 18th at 6:42pm, Belleville Police responded to a report of a suspected impaired driver in the city’s west end after a male was observed to be falling asleep while driving. Upon arrival, officers located the suspect vehicle and observed a male driver behind the wheel. Officers spoke to the male and observed signs of impairment.
As a result of police investigation, Shawn Eggiman, 45-year-old Quinte West man, was arrested and charged with Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs. He was released on an Undertaking with a scheduled court date in April.
Intimate Partner Violence
On February 18th at 5:55am, Belleville Police responded to a report of a domestic dispute in the city’s east end. Upon arrival, officers spoke to a female who reported that a verbal argument escalated and that a male had pushed her into a door and then onto the ground.
As a result of police investigation, a 28-year-old Belleville man of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with assault. He was released on an Undertaking with a scheduled court date in April.

On February 18th at 6:55am, Belleville Police responded to a residence in the city’s east end regarding a report of a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, officers spoke to a female who reported that a verbal argument escalated and a male had punched her in the face.
As a result of police investigation, a 33-year-old Deseronto man, was arrested and charged with:
- Assault
- Fail to comply with a probation order
He was held for a bail hearing.
